Beefy Birthday Cake

Here’s one that Reilly really likes and who can blame him – anything with beef, cake and birthday all in the name can only be delicious!

Before you start, preheat the oven to 325 degrees (160 degrees Celsius) and have a greased cake pan ready. Then, gather up the ingredients:

2-1/2 cups of buckwheat flour
1-1/2 teaspoons of baking powder
1/2 cup of butter
1/2 cup of oil
4 ounces of ground beef
2 strips of beef jerky
3 eggs

Cream together all the wet ingredients first (butter, oil, beef, and eggs), and then fold in the dry ones (flour and baking powder). Once that is mixed together well, crumble the beef jerky into the mixture. Then, pour the batter into the cake pan and bake for 60 minutes. Be sure to allow the cake to cool before icing it with cream cheese, drizzle on the icing or smooth thinly as desired.

Little pets can help with the icing as well as all the mixing involved in this recipe. They can also decorate the beefcake with shaved carrots, peas, and whatever other wholesome ingredients you might like to have at your party. Be sure to refrigerate any uneaten cake. It’s even better the next day.
