Berry Bones – A Great Frozen Treat for Summer

Berry Bones are a great way to stay cool! Perfect for the summer!
What am I talking about? Ice bones! Here’s what you need:

  • 1/2 cup to a cup of plain yogurt
  • 1/2 cup to a cup strawberries
  • 1/2 cup to a cup blueberries
  • Ice cube tray with dog bone shapes

Okay, so now you’ve got your ingredients together. What do you do?

  1. Puree the berries (one flavor at a time) in a blender, or you could use a fork (and a little bit of elbow grease) because they’re so soft.
  2. Layer them into your mold. If you don’t have a mold, you can always use a muffin tin or regular ice cube tray.
  3. Fill each slot 1/3 full with strawberry puree.
  4. Freeze for an hour.
  5. Add yogurt to make it 2/3 full.
  6. Freeze for an hour.
  7. Scrape off any excess white yogurt from sides so you will be able to see all three layers.
  8. Fill to top with blueberries and freeze for at least five hours.

I know, more waiting. But these look tasty! Berry-licious! And they are the colors of the 4th of July but good anytime!

Enjoy and say cool!
